Our Story

Founded by Ivory Patterson and Shemin Wilson, N.A.K.E.D came to be as two friends talked about life issues that they were experiencing. What we would find is that often we had experienced similar or the very same thing at varying times, frequencies, and durations. And, what we found is that we each felt alone in our struggle like no one would understand, until we would vent to each other and recognize that we were not alone. For various reasons it seems as though many of us women of color struggle with sharing our lived experiences. For us, it was fear of not being understood and a perceived lack of a space to be comfortably, confidently, unapologetically and bravely honest. So, we began to think what if we became the space for women like us with shared life experiences to come together. A community where we could bravely vent, find resources, referrals and most importantly support. So, we founded IAM N.A.K.E.D LLC.

What is N.A.K.E.D  

Necessary Acknowledgment of Knowledge in order to Evolve Divinely 

N.A.K.E.D is a boutique coaching and consulting company. We provide transformational life coaching and consulting services specifically tailored towards women of color. We want to address the notion that “women of color must be strong” and we don’t seek outside support because “no one will understand my struggle”. By cultivating a community that is a brave space for women with shared experiences, we hope to break through the barrier for overall wellness, which often leaves us stuck in place and struggling to reach our goals. By offering a brave space where we can be transparent, open, honest, and engaging, we can begin to start having the conversations that foster growth.
